The site needed to give Fijians coming to Ireland, Fijians already living here, and anyone in Ireland planning a trip to Fiji a clear, trustworthy source of information, plus an easy way to contact the Honorary Consul or join a mailing list.
It also needed to be simple to host and keep up to date, without a heavy CMS or database.
The palette pairs a deep navy with Fiji blue and the red and gold of the national coat of arms, with the shield in the hero. A masi (tapa cloth) pattern band and diamond texture add a Fijian craft motif. Headings use Fraunces; body text uses Source Sans 3.

Two PHP form handlers with validation, AJAX submission and per-visitor rate limiting; subscriber data is kept in a folder blocked from web access.
The events calendar is rendered from a single events.json file and splits upcoming and past events by date.
A small build script generates the static pages with a shared header, footer and navigation.
Changes are reviewed on a no-index staging subdomain before going live; source is kept in a private GitHub repository.
Content updates requested by the Consul by email are applied with an AI assistant and checked on staging before publishing.
